Redact a PDF for real

Black out names, numbers and anything private. Redacted pages are rebuilt so the hidden text is truly gone, not just covered.

🔒 Free. Try any tool right away; a free account saves your work. Your file stays on your device: nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Open the PDF
  2. Drag over what to hide, or tap a line
  3. Download: the text under the boxes is gone

Private by design

Quick PDF runs entirely in your browser. Your PDFs are opened, edited and saved on your own phone or computer. They are never sent to a server, so nobody (us included) can see them. It even works offline once loaded.

Questions

Is the text really removed?

Yes. Each page with a redaction is redrawn as an image with the boxes burned in, so the hidden words no longer exist in the file. Those pages lose selectable text.
